Meet at 5:30 pm in the parking lot at the end of Hobson Street in Bloomfield, off Broughton Avenue, south of Watchung Avenue.

Spring brings us longer evenings just as early passerine migrants are arriving. We’ll take a leisurely (and possibly muddy) walk through Bloomfield’s best-known birding secret, Clarks Pond, in search of winter wrens, chipping sparrows, eastern phoebes, golden-crowned and ruby-crowned kinglets, and Louisiana waterthrushes, along with wood ducks and a smattering of other waterfowl on the pond itself. Be prepared to walk a total distance of about a mile, and bring your binoculars, a snack, and water. We will be finished before sunset, which is at 7:37 pm.
