Teaneck Creek Conservancy

Monday, June 17, 2024

rain date June 24

A birder's meetup

Meet in the parking lot at 20 Puffin Way, Teaneck, New Jersey.

Teaneck Creek Conservancy is a 46-acre park with short looping trails through a newly remediated wetland. Native plants and trees have been preserved while other restoration projects continue. Yellow warblers and Baltimore orioles are nesters here, and raptors are frequent visitors; the park is also good dragonfly habitat. Art installations provide historical and community context for a space that has undergone a wide variety of land uses.

Our walk will cover less than two miles on level, generally dry trails. To reach the meeting site, take the Teaneck exit from Interstate 80 and Interstate 95, which leads to Degraw Avenue near its intersection with Teaneck Road (North). Puffin Way is a dead end off Teaneck Road; there is an Enrite gas station on the corner.

A map and other information are available at Write to Beni at for further details.

There are no restrooms here. The nearest restrooms are five minutes away, at the Overpeck Park kayak launch, off Degraw Avenue (keep right at the circle and look for kayaks).
